In this rate of reactions lesson plan, students use an electronic balance to measure the change in mass of a chemical reaction between hydrochloric acid and calcium carbonate. They measure the mass over time and observe the changes. They enter their data into a spreadsheet and calculate the rate of the reaction over time. They answer 11 questions about their results.
