Instructional Ideas

  • Once they have completed work on these examples, have learners store this away as a reference sheet
  • If you want learners to solve these on their own, simply cover the answers when copying

Classroom Considerations

  • Although these rules do work, there isn't any explanation as to why they work, a necessary component of the Common Core

Pros

  • Simple instructions and examples that cover a wide variety of fraction equations
  • Room for learners to show the steps outlined in the directions

Cons

  • One of the answers is undefined, since it includes division by 0. This concept is not covered in the reference material
  • Specific course is briefly referenced on both pages
