Halves

Is it half? There are three sections to this introductory fractions learning exercise focusing on halves. First graders begin by coloring half of five basic shapes, each of which already is divided into two parts. Next, they examine four pre-colored shapes to determine if half is shaded. Finally, scholars color in one half of five symmetrical objects (which also have a line of symmetry draw down the center). At least one is done for them for each of these sections; consider using these examples as a model to review the concept before they try on their own.
