How Do You Add Mixed Fractions with Different Denominators by Converting to Improper Fractions?

The first step in adding mixed numbers is to change them into improper fractions. Secondly, make sure the denominators are the same. If they are not the same, then find a common denominator. Make the proper conversions to the numerator if changes were made to the denominator. Now addition can be made. Don't forget to change the improper fraction back in to a mixed number.
