After hearing a passage from the story Kittens First Full Moon by Kevin Henkes, scholars work with a partner to discuss and sketch what they found memorable. Peers share their final products with the rest of the class. A second reading leads the way to question answering on a graphic organizer and another round of peer discussions. The writing ends the assessment with a prompt about a scene from the story.
