This Estimating and counting by tens lesson plan also includes:
First graders pass around a container filled with cookies. They estimate how many chocolate chips they believe are in the container and then, they break apart the cookies and separate the chocolate chips from the crumbs. Finally, the students count out the chocolate chips into groups of ten.
