Use these missing-addend problems to help your beginning mathematicians practice addition facts. They read sentences and solve, making 10 from different single-digit numbers. Each of these four problems is formatted differently, so the learning exercise meets a wide range of learners. They write numbers, examine number sentences, quantify a set of objects, and write out their thinking. For learners who do not yet write, do this orally with them or use manipulatives.
