A fun and challenging vocabulary exercise that focuses the learner's attention on word root meanings, this crossword puzzle would make a great homework or sponge activity. Pupils are provided with 12 clues and they must come up with appropriate vocabulary words to fill into the word puzzle. All words contain the roots PLIC, FAC or COGN. This activity does not include a word bank which makes the task more open-ended. Clues, puzzle and answer key can all be printed out for use in your class.
