Inside each of these two-dimensional shapes, scholars identify the figure by writing its name. There is a word bank for them to work from, but some shape names are used multiple times. There are six identifiers they use: pentagon, triangle, octagon, hexagon, rectangle, and square. Consider creating a classroom chart together before doing this, listing shapes in categories based on how many sides they have. Then, encourage kids to count the sides and reference the chart to determine which shape it is.
