Learners explore the concept of fractions through use of hands on activity. In this instructional activity about fractions, students will work together in small groups with a round piece of paper, or pizza, and cut the pizza into pieces. Learners will practice with halves, thirds, and quarters and develop an understanding of the numerator and denominator as they divide the pizza.
