Classroom Considerations

  • This was originally designed for special education students to provide them with a clear structure for how to proceed through fire safety measures. Have special needs students place the cards in the proper sequential order for reference in the event of an emergency
  • There may be some confusion between when to use certain cards (i.e. when to crawl, sit, follow, etc.). Be explicit with your learners on what each picture card entails, and consider adding or subtracting cards in ordet to best apply this lesson to your unique classroom setting

Pros

  • Thoroughly breaks down process of a fire drill
  • Includes picture cards without words for an optional activity (see included materials)

Cons

  • None
