Shoot Out

Shoot Out is a quick-paced practice for shooting baskets. Each team has six players, each with an assigned number. These numbers are used to assign roles during the activity. There are three roles: shooters, rebounders, and scorekeepers. Each pairing rotates through these roles during the activity. There are many options for having winners. I really like that there are two free-throw lines so the players can decide for themselves which line they want to shoot from. Shooting from the closer line and being able to score one point at a time, is better than trying from the two-point line and missing too many shots.
