Intended for beginners to geometry, an area of a rectangle problem has scholars draw out the units within the shape. They segment it into four rows and six columns to determine how many squares the rectangle is made of and, eventually, the area. Remind scholars that their equal parts may not end up as squares. There is a detailed explanation at the bottom, so use this as an all-class warm up and cover the bottom until they have tried it.
