The story of Mohandas Gandhi and how he led the nonviolent rebellion against British rule in India, resulting in India's independence. It also led to religious conflict between Hindus and Muslims who wanted separate countries (i.e., India and Pakistan), against Gandhi's wishes. Gandhi was later assassinated by a religious extremist because of this conflict.
