"Tree Cookies!" is a delicious little presentation designed to introduce upper elementary or middle school botanists to the anatomy of a tree trunk. The cambium, phloem, xylem, and other vital structures are identified and defined. Two different cross-sections are displayed on which viewers can practice counting growth rings. Make sure to follow this slide show by giving your class a chance to identify structures and count growth rings on an actual slice of tree trunk! Note, the last four slides are missing pictures, but the presentation can stand solidly without these slides.
