Seventeen short assessments are designed to test scholars’ knowledge of basic Algebra 1 concepts. Pupils determine the houses that are a given maximum distance from a school, complete charts to show equivalent scale factors, and determine the scale of a house plan. Other assessments have pupils analyze graphs to determine the rates of change between a Ford and a Ferrari to determine which is faster, determine how to increase the dimensions of a square and a circle to increase the perimeter by a given factor, and determine the distance a person can jog in the time left before dinner. Each assessment, with scenarios designed to engage high schoolers, has its own scoring rubric.
