Different tones for different audiences. That's the big idea behind the second lesson in a two-part series that reveals Abigail Adams as a mother. Scholars examine letters Abigail Adams wrote to her sons, John Quincy Adams and Charles Adams. They assume the voice of either John or Charles and write a response to one of her letters. Pupils then craft a journal entry that reveals their private thoughts about their mother's letter.
