Chuukese Dinner (high School)

Students read journal entries about having dinner with a Chuukese family. Using this information, they identify which foods sound appealing and compare and contrast Micronesian and American foods, fruits and vegetables. In groups, they use a recipe to create a Micronesian dish, identifying which American foods can be used as substitutes. They also discuss the different dinner customs practiced by both cultures.

I was an intern last year. I didn't always have the time to look at the files of other teachers at 10pm at night. LessonPlanet saved me so many times I've lost count. I would look all over other websites for quality lesson plans and, no surprise, I always ended up here.
