Students gather in a circle on the rug with the teacher. Teacher begins singing general morning song and the Students join in. Students are selected to be line leader, calendar helper, weather helper, color reviewer, and some to handle puppets during the story read. Students create their own set of animals similar to those in the story read. Next, they color and glue these on to popsicle sticks to create their own puppets for the story.
