Separate and very unequal! An interactive presents learners with two images: a photograph of a boys' bathroom at a school in Gloucester County, Virginia, and a second of a girls' bathroom at a different school in the same county. The images, submitted as part of a court case by the NAACP, prompt learners to consider the strengths and weaknesses of the  "equalization strategy" used in the early days of the struggle to end school segregation.
