Instructional Ideas

  • Use this resource as an opportunity for students to learn and practice different test-taking strategies
  • Once they have finished the assessment, have students work with a partner or in small groups correcting their answers and discussing any mistakes they made

Classroom Considerations

  • If you decide to have your class practice taking online assessments, you may need to schedule time in your school's computer lab
  • While the content covered in each version of the test is the same, there are some slight differences in the questions found on the printable and online assessments
  • Supporting the needs of the vision impaired, a large-print version of the test is provided, though depending on the capabilities of your school's printers you may have difficulty producing documents this size

Pros

  • There are two distinct sections to the assessment: one that allows the use of calculators and one that does not
  • Offering a variety of different question formats, a computer-based version of the assessment is also available
  • The printable test is offered in Spanish and large-print to meet the varying needs of learners
  • Answer keys are provided for each version of the test
