By constructing a watershed model and identifying watershed features in it, they discover how water erosion changes the landscape. As with most watershed modeling activities, this one is costly in terms of time and materials. It is, however, one of the most effective ways to present watershed features or water erosion to your geology class. Consider having parents volunteer during model-building day and making it a week-long learning experience. This is part one of a three.
