Focus on halves, thirds, and fourths in these visual fraction activities. Scholars begin by examining a grid with various expressions of the three fractions displayed in the grid squares. They color-code the grid to indicate which squares show one half, one third, and one fourth. Next, learners label segmented shapes according to how they have been divided. A shape that is split into four parts, for example, would have 1/4 written in each of its sections. There is one done for them and they complete eight more. Finally, they answer four questions testing their associations with these fractions as part of a whole.
