Eleventh graders compare several eyewitness accounts of Stillman's Run, and discuss how a historian might use them. They act as historians and try to reconstruct what happened during Stillman's Run from the eyewitness accounts.

First graders listen to books about butterflies and look at pictures of butterflies. Students review the stages of butterflies and learn the migratory path the monarch takes in its adult stage.

Students play a math game to reinforce math skills. They calculate a problem, if they have the card with the correct answer, they hold that card up. All incorrect cards go to the student holding the correct answer or the teacher.

Pupils participate in a math game. In the game, any math problem is allowed as long as the answer is between 1 to 100.

Students listen to the story, "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs". Then the class creates their own version of the story with a theme of their choice. In small groups, they write and illustrate a paragraph for the class book.

Young scholars play a trading game using Base 10 blocks that incorporates decimal place value. Then they each receive a paper with a decimal number on it and must arrange themselves in a line from least to greatest.

Students design and draw a new product in a graphics program. Students research and create a report on how they plan to market their product. Students create a flyer, brochure or business card to be passed out at the New Product Fair.

Students organize the Canadian Loyalist primary source documents and add more information to their primary source document concept maps.

Young scholars interview each other to complete an interview organizer on research about Canadian Loyalists.

Students participate in various classroom activities designed to teach them about the location and cultures of countries in Southeast Asia.

Students research and simulate a debate of an issue. They simulate proposing a bill to the legislature.

Students become part of the solution as they practice figuring percents. The number of men versus women present in the room and their heights can be used to form the basis of this investigation.

Students interpret and judge the meaning of a political cartoon. They dicuss the cartoons in groups and write an evaluative paragraph which they present to the class.

Learners explore the possibility that all the gold on Earth came from another source. Discussions of how the materials arrived and its source forms the basis of data used to play a review game.

Learners read and discuss the scientific article attached to the lesson. They compose a letter to the editor citing the importance of preserving an ecological environment.

Second graders identify characteristics of living organisms and nonliving objects while running on the playground. They run to retrieve a card, determine whether to place it in the "living" container or the "nonliving" container.

Fifth graders write about how to perform a certain physical activity. The other students in the case must perform the activity based on the written instructions.

Students analyze a poem of their choice to find the meaning. They break the poems into sections and add images and sounds to make it into a video. They show their video to the whole school if possible.

Students read and discuss the writings of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Timothy Shay Arthur and others to explore mid to late 19th century dress reform. They use their findings to write a letter to an editor from a 19th century viewpoint.

Students conduct an experiment to determine if water level is affected by a change in oxygen level or air pressure.
